The American Red Cross organizes disaster volunteer qualifications into Groups, Activities, & Positions.
Groups—Indicate who is being served by the Activity (e.g. Individual Clients, Mass Care)
Activities—Define the basic function (e.g. Sheltering, Public Affairs)
Positions—The particular level each person is placed based on their training, skills, and experience
