Adopt a Unit ::
|
 |
 |
|
 |
 |
 |
In the Service to the Armed Forces Adopt a Unit program, volunteers provide support for military members and their families in a particular unit. Before, during and after deployment and as families deal with their own personal emergencies, volunteers will be on hand to help. There are many ways volunteers can be involved, including:
Celebrations
- Plan a send off or welcome home event for deployed units and ships
- Organize holiday and birthday parties throughout the year
Family Friends
- Hold a retreat for military spouses
- Assist individual spouses dealing with especially stressful situations
Surprises
- Arrange and support special video connections for births
- Send care boxes to a unit or ship
Time Commitment: Organize and host at least two events over the course of one year.

Throughout the year, groups are encouraged to join us as volunteers for special events and one-time projects:
- CPR Saturday (March): An annual event providing free Adult CPR training and certification to members of our community
- Lifeguard Games (Summer): Gives local lifeguards an opportunity to showcase their life-saving skills through competitions such as an active victim rescue and a 10-pound brick carry race
- Special Projects (Varies): Activities might include preparing disaster backpacks, updating comfort kits, cleaning CPR manikins, providing data entry support, running short-term phone banks and much more
Time Commitment: Varies based upon project chosen.
