Today's American Red Cross is keeping pace with the changing military. Using the latest in computer and telecommunications technology, the Red Cross allows military members stationed all over the world to send messages to loved ones back home during an emergency or other important events. These communications are delivered around-the-clock, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
While serving 1.4 million active duty personnel, the Red Cross also reaches out to the 1.5 million members of the National Guard and the Reserves who reside in nearly every local community in the United States.
Through the 24/7 operations of SAF, the chapter offers a variety of services, including:
Notification and Emergency Communication
Service to Military Families
Services to Military and Veteran Hospitals
Emergency Financial Assistance

The 12 for 12 Program from the SDARC Services to the Armed Forces (SAF)
As part of the SDARC's aid to families coping with emergencies, SAF helps military families connect with deployed loved ones when they face unexpected circumstances. Either in times of joy or sorrow, SAF uses the latest in telecommunications technology to transmit urgent messages between military personnel and their families, no matter where the service member is stationed. These communications are delivered around the clock, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Help Serve Our Military by supporting the 12 for 12 Program.
A donation of $12 each month for 12 months, or a one time donation of $144 provides 12 military families with emergency communication over the course of a year. You can donate online by using the form below or by contacting Andrea Waldron at (858)309-1217 or at andrea.waldron@sdarc.org.
Thank you for joining us in helping our military and their families stay connected.
