Q: Where and when will CPR Saturday occur this year?
A: CPR Saturday will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at the Golden Hall at the San Diego Concourse, located at 202 C St. in downtown San Diego.
Q: Do I have to register in advance?
A: Not unless you would like to volunteer. Otherwise, please arrive 30 minutes prior to the session you would like to take. Classes are first come, first serve.
Q: Is there any cost?
A: No, there is no charge for the class.
Q: What time are the classes?
A: Sessions begin every hour on the hour starting at 7 a.m. The last session will be held at 1 p.m.
Q: How long does the training take?
A: The course takes approximately 3-1/2 hours to complete.
Q: How many people can the sessions accommodate?
A: Up to 400 people can be trained in English and 50 in Spanish per session. Training is also available in American Sign Language.
Q: Is there a minimum age required to get certified in CPR?
A: No, however the participant needs to have a 6th grade reading level and enough upper body strength to perform compressions in order to get certified.
Q: Can I bring children?
A: Children ages 5-11 can participate in Basic First Aid Training and Water Safety while their parents/guardians get certified in CPR. Children must be picked up promptly after their parent's or guardian's class. There is no childcare provided for children under age 5.
Q: Will First Aid, Infant/Child CPR or AED certifications be offered?
A: No, but a discount certificate will be available to take these classes at one of our training facilities within the next 30 days after CPR Saturday.
Q: Where do I park?
A: Limited reduced rate parking will be available at the Concourse, however the event is easily accessible by public transportation.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Loose, comfortable clothing such as jeans and sneakers.
Q: Will I get a certificate?
A: Yes, everyone who passes the course will receive an Adult CPR certificate in which is valid for two years.
