Joe W. Craver was appointed CEO of the American Red Cross - San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter in January 2008. Prior to that appointment, Craver served as the Interim CEO for eight months and lead the chapter through the 2007 San Diego Wildfires response.
A member of the organization's board of directors for four years, Joe W. Craver is the founder of Galaxie Management, Inc., a nationwide marketing company with representatives in nine locations throughout the United States. Joe retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Pentagon where he procured all the Air Force aircraft, missiles, and spare parts with an annual check-writing authority of $13 billion per year. He also served as the primary witness during congressional hearing for the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of the Air Force.
Joe W. Craver is a combat veteran, having earned a Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross for Gallantry, Distinguished Flying Cross for Aerial Achievement, four Air Medals, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a Command Pilot logging over 8,000 flying hours. Col. Craver flew some 210 combat missions over Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
